What this website collects

The waitlist form asks for your name, email and country, and lets you add your WhatsApp number, city, age range and answers about how you follow or work in football. It also records the page you came from, any campaign tag in the link you followed, your browser language and your type of device. The form saves this in a Google Sheet that we control, using Google Apps Script. Google may store it outside South Africa.

If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you join. The form asks you to confirm that they agree.

The email links on this website open your own email app. We receive your details only if you press Send.

For the length of one visit, your browser remembers the first page you opened and any campaign tag in its link, so the waitlist form can record where you found us. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, to run and protect the site.

The Geronimo app has its own terms and privacy notice.

Measurement

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are read, the type of device and the country. To do this it sets two cookies on this site, named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. They expire two years after your last visit. Google Search Console shows us how the site appears in Google Search and sets no cookies.

Google signals and data sharing with Google are off, Analytics does not store IP addresses, and it keeps event data for two months. We do not use these tools to show ads, to follow you across other sites, or to sell your data. There are no advertising trackers on this website.

You can stop the count on this browser at any time. Your choice is saved in this browser.

How we use your details

We use the details in your email to reply to you and to talk to you about Geronimo.

We use your waitlist answers to send you launch news by email, and on WhatsApp if you gave your number, and to plan the app around the people who join. We do not sell them. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or emailing us.

Your rights

South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) lets you ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email info@geronimo.africa to ask.
